Today is the first day that we are officially identifying ourselves as RedSeam. This has been a long and tiring process but we are happy to take this next step.
Back in 2011, I began this journey as Perkins Creative Group. A humble one-man operation with aspirations of one day taking the leap forward to not being identified as a single person. A lot of thought went into what this agency should be named. I wanted to honor my past and incorporate my passions, while trying to find a perfect metaphor for our business goals. After countless hours of racking my brain, I kept coming back to my time as a baseball player and trying to find a fitting name.
For those of you that do not know, I was a relief pitcher from 3rd grade all the way up to college. I spent a lot of time on the baseball field and it was some of my fondest memories. From taking third place in the Marshfield Recreation League in first grade, to pitching against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2008 spring training, I always loved holding a baseball in my hand. So it got me thinking about the most memorable piece of the sport, the baseball’s seams. From there the metaphors started rolling in about how baseball seams help change the speed and direction of the baseball and that was exactly what I wanted to do for small businesses, help change their business’ course and velocity in their industry. After that I began pulling in my passion for classic and vintage things and thus RedSeam took it’s current form.
RedSeam will continue to evolve. We will take our experiences and apply them to all aspects of what we do here. I never want us to accept that we know everything. We will strive to learn more and never fear to admit we do not know something… yet. Our philosophy will be to work hard and passionately, invest in our clients success, and never ever accept the status quo or think something is impossible!
